I don't know anything about Sock Puppet. I think it's rude to infer trolling status on someone, but the fact that SP has advocated for left-of-center positions while PR advocates for right-of-center political positions is good enough evidence for me that they're not the same person.

Regardless, yes, PR is really that dumb.

Seriously now. In that second thread, there was no one too stupid except for Psychic Robot to grasp the fact that fireballs do not have to be inherently superior to swords. I don't even think you-know-who was that retarded and that fucking guy could not be convinced that things that have a chance of happening will eventually happen if you repeat the circumstances enough.

As for sock puppet. He is called sock puppet. His debut was spamming the hell out of PRs sulk off thread. He started out "clarifying" PRs thoughts and position. Hell he actually defended PR, and who would do that?

Even if he isn't actually PR then I'd consider him close enough to be "the next best thing".

Greetings Phone Lobster! I don't believe we've actually met yet. I'd really like to get a chance to explain about some of the scum that seems to be floating in your beer. Okay with you?

I've been a lurker here for a pretty long time, actually. I found this site because of the Tomes, no big surprise, and then continued to haunt because a few people, like Count Arioch, just amused the Hell out of me. The Den can be a real fun place to hang out, and I can appreciate that there is no prejudice against those with perpetual Tourette's. But the aggression and viciousness that gets unloaded on 4E and Pathfinder is kind of a bummer. I don't think I'm the only person who feels that way.

I don't consider myself to be a fan or a supporter of Psychic Robot, by any means - just because I happen to agree with some of what he said does not mean that I am "clarifying" his thoughts and position. I followed that thread when AlexandraErin came to visit closely, and actually winced when PR started in on the "fatty" comments. That was when his argument-style flew off the rails, as far as I'm concerned, and Alexandra staying cool in spite of it led me to believe that she won that thread. So when PR comes out and says that he was wrong to be such a negative jerk, it felt good. I can appreciate someone having the stones to admit they behaved poorly. I had hoped that the Den would maybe move past some of this shit, and focus on the positives instead. It was less than a week later that Frank started the "Pathfinder Lowdown" thread, almost as if there was a void of negative bullshit that he felt he just had to fill. Needless to say, I was severely dissapointed in him.

So dissapointed, in fact, that I wanted to "de-cloak" and speak my mind. But I also didn't want to be the guy who was known for just coming onto this site to spew some ugly shit at Frank the God-King, in case I ever felt like becoming a more active member of the Den someday. So, technically, I am a reverse sock-puppet. I thought that I would say what I had to say, and then drop this profile forever.

And then I thought about it for awhile. That's an awfully shitty thing to do. I couldn't feel good about such a cowardly act. I even tried to set up a new profile with a new name, but you're only allowed one per email address. Besides, knowing me, it would have been something like "Burrito Farts on a Crowded Elevator" anyway, so what's the difference? I just decided to say my piece, and actually stick around to defend my thoughts. So I softened my message a little (the bile that I was initially reading off in my head was much worse than what I actually said). Hopping into the thread PR started with a jerk-ass name like "Sock Puppet" was enough to piss off some people into assuming that I was trolling. And ya know what, fair enough. My fault for that. It wasn't my conscious intention to do so. Maybe on some level I was aware of what might happen - I kind of get off on fucking with people's expectations. I wish it were otherwise, but there it is. I'm the eldest of four brothers, and my whole life I've been training to push people's buttons. It's something I need to work on as a person, but I'm old and stuck in my ways. Maybe you don't appreciate my sense of humor, but I'm certainly not going to tell you to go eat a bag of cocks. Personally, I think that's crass and infantile. But if that's what floats your boat, more power to ya. Honestly, none of this is really any of your goddamn business, but tonight I choose to share it with you. And don't we all feel special now.

And for what it's worth, I think that a lot of y'all are unnecessarily shitty to Roy, as well. My first actual post was in a thread of his. He wasn't exactly... pleasant... to me, but I can say that he has at least been intellectually honest with me. He's an alright guy, once you get to know him.

Hey, SP, if you're going to post, could you give a clearer point on what 'negativity' you were finding in the Pathfinder Lowdown thread? 'Cause it's kinda hard to be positive about moving the deck chairs on the Titanic and stuffing cotton into your ears when told that's what you're doing... So some level of negativity was going to happen.

And we are not the sort to stand around and say nothing. We've decided that's worse than pointing out flaws. Can't fix 'em if you ignore them. You don't fix the squeaky wheel by putting wax in your ears.

Like I said in another thread, Roy is the Fred Phelps of our board, in that he makes you regret having a service that's unique and usually really good. He's a routine embarrassment to people who pop over here and is the biggest indictment of our 'you don't need to be polite, just honest' policy. I can't tell you how much I really, really hate it when someone off-board comes and he immediately begins threadshitting. Not even in the marginally acceptable way of Elroy, but with those damn cat pictures and repeated cries of FAIL FAIL FAIL.

So like Fred Phelps we kind of shuffle our feet when outsiders go 'dude, what the heck is wrong with that guy? Why don't you silence him?' and then lamely reply something about free speech needing to be preserved and la dee da.

I will grant you that he is as far as I can see intellectually honest and has always been completely straight with us; never asking for special treatment nor asking things out of people he wouldn't grant for himself. So did Bull Connor. Big hairy deal!

I think this whole Sock Puppet thing is getting a bit too much attention. I don't really care about PR's original intentions on making this thread is.

I posted here because I agreed with what he said and I honestly wanted to express how I felt about the Den.

If people believe or are shitty about whether or not PR = SP then don't you think giving it more attention would then be playing into PR's hands? Especially if you believe that he's just doing it for attention. Wouldn't a better use of this thread be spent on how people feel (positively or negatively) about the Den and why? The title of the thread at least supports this purpose.
